Who we are

Tuno is an app by Xmoos Creative Projects, the Netherlands. For questions about privacy, email [email protected].

Microphone and recordings

Tuno uses the microphone of your iPhone only while measuring, after you give permission. The recordings are analysed on your iPhone and are never sent to us or anyone else.

Recordings stay on your phone until you start a new measurement or delete the app. You can share them yourself via the debug screen; that only happens when you choose to.

Your cars and results

Make, model, year, your answers about the sound system and your results are stored on your iPhone. When iCloud sync is available, they are also stored in your own iCloud account, which only you can access. Tuno has no account and no server of its own.

In the Netherlands you can look up your car by licence plate. The plate is then sent to the open data service of the RDW (the Dutch vehicle authority) to retrieve make, model and year. The full plate is only stored on your phone.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. To process purchases we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app ID and your purchase history, not your name or email address.

Information about your device

To take the microphone into account, Tuno reads the model of your iPhone and the iOS version. This stays on your phone.

This website

usetuno.com uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and time) for security, for a limited time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. Because Tuno stores your data on your own devices, you can delete everything yourself by removing the app (and the Tuno data in iCloud). For anything else, email us.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update it on this page and change the date at the top.
